# Pause Dedicated Run

> Pause a running dedicated run for good at its next checkpoint.

The run turns PAUSING, then PAUSED once its checkpoint is back on its
volume in R2 and its GPUs are released. Resume it with a new run from
that volume: `resumeFrom` on POST /runs.
